Established in 1931, the New Creation Christian Center has a rich history. The New Creation Christian Center’s journey began on Eleventh and Jefferson Street. By 1940, it found a new home on South 16th Street. Under spiritual leaders, the church flourished, emphasizing Holiness and Sanctification. A new building replaced the old, a testament to the growing congregation. In 1975, doctrinal disagreements led to a division within the church. However, in 1986, under Elder John Cummings, the New Creation Christian Center rejoined the Original Church of God (OCOG). Urban Renewal in 1991 forced another relocation. The church found temporary refuge in St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Magazine Street Seventh-day Adventist Church. Finally, in 1993, the New Creation Christian Center settled at its current location. The church has witnessed countless lives transformed, souls saved, and the word of God preached. In 2006, a reunion with the Clay Street and Kentucky Street OCOG congregations further strengthened the church. The legacy of Bishop Albert Jones, who served for 24 years, remains a cherished memory. Today, Pastor Gerald A. Jones and Lady Crystal Jones lead the New Creation Christian Center. They continue the church’s mission of loving God, serving Christ, strengthening families, and proclaiming the Gospel.
