Crouch began preaching in Val Verde. He ministered to convicts, drug addicts and the ill. He also broadcast on radio and television. The Christ Memorial Church started in residents’ garages. In the 1960s, a church was built on Vaughn Street.
Bishop Crouch’s daughter Sandra Crouch is a Grammy-winning gospel singer. Her twin brother is Andrae. They recalled their father preaching on the streets. He was known as “Papa Crouch”. He touched many lives.
New Christ Memorial Church of God continues this legacy. The church empowers the youth. It reaches the community through practical teaching. Praise and worship are central here.
