Currently, Neartown Church gathers on-site every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. The services are also streamed online. You can find Neartown Church at The Council on Recovery. It is at 303 Jackson Hill St in Houston.
What can you expect during a typical service at Neartown Church? The service starts with music. An incredible band leads songs. Words are displayed on screen. Everyone can participate in this act of worship. Many people sing. However, listening to the music is also acceptable.
Next, Pastor Russell guides scripture readings. He helps people understand the scriptures. He gives practical applications for daily life. Brief announcements follow with information for guests. There are instructions for those looking to attend an event. Information about service projects and Loop Groups are also shared. Loop Groups are their take on small groups.
Then, there is an offertory. This is a time for Mission Partners to give financially. These donations support the work of Neartown Church. They do not pass a plate or pressure anyone to give. Neartown Church believes God loves a cheerful giver.
Finally, a benediction occurs. An encouraging word from the Bible is spoken. It is spoken over the congregation as the service ends.
Neartown Church provides free parking next to the facility. They even have reserved parking spots. These spots are near the door for first-time guests.
What about children? KidCity is available at 10 a.m. It serves children through 5th grade. All teachers are fully trained. They are background checked by Neartown Church.

Neartown Church believes you should come as you are. If you are comfortable in jeans and flip-flops, wear that. If you prefer a suit and tie, wear that.
