However, its roots go deep, entwined with the prestigious Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital founded in 1967. It was the merging of this faculty with other colleges under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration that gave birth to Navamindradhiraj University. The university’s motto, “Wisdom in Service to Humanity,” reflects its dedication to medical sciences and public service. Interestingly, the name “Navamindradhiraj University” was bestowed upon the university by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej himself. The name, meaning “the ninth monarch,” is a tribute to the king.
