It is located in Miyun County about 80km northeast of Beijing. “Nanshan” means “South Mountain”. The resort sits on the northern slope of Nanshan Mountain. Nanshan Ski Resort targets young and middle-class skiers. But everyone is welcome here. There are many ways to reach Nanshan Ski Resort. You can take the No. 980 bus from Dongzhimen Bus Terminal. Get off at West Bridge in Miyun. Then grab a local taxi to Nanshan Ski Village. Another option is the ski shuttle coach. It departs from Sanyuan Bridge and Wudaokou Subway. Self-driving is also an option. Take the Jingcheng Expressway. Exit at Miyun Downtown. Then follow the signs.
Upon arrival visit the Information Center. It’s by the left side of the entrance. Study the map to understand the trails and facilities. The ticket office is also on the left side of the entry gate. Buy your entry ticket there. Walk along the path lined with ski equipment stores. You will see the ticket office on your left.
Nanshan Ski Resort offers 21 trails for all skill levels. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers can all have fun. Check out the Nanshan Mellow Park. It is China’s first Mogul advanced train. There is also Off Piste a tree run. A seasonal toboggan run imported from Germany awaits. It is 1318m long.
Need to rent equipment? The Nanshan Ski Service Center is adjacent to the ticket office. It offers ski equipment rental for individuals. You can rent ski boots, ski suits, skis, and snowboards. Closets are available to store personal belongings.
Want to learn or improve your skills? The Nanshan Ski & Snowboard School is in the Ski Service Center. It has over 100 licensed instructors. They offer customized ski programs for all levels.
Nanshan Ski Resort has two quadruple chair lifts. There is also a double chair lift. Thirteen drag lifts and three magic carpets are available. These help interconnect the ski trails.
For non-skiers there are snow tubes and sledding. Children’s snowmobiles are available too. There is also a DIY children’s playground. Nanshan Ski Resort offers a variety of food and beverages. Visit the Nanshan Alps Coffee Corner. It offers coffee, cakes, and free internet. It has a sundeck with views of the ski area.
The Terrace Restaurant & Pub sits over the Mellow Park. It offers drinks, pizza, Italian noodles, and salad. The Nanshan Restaurant offers self-service meals. Nanshan Chalet Plaza offers Chinese snacks and cuisine. For overnight stays Nanshan Ski Resort offers lodging. The Shirton Inn has three buildings with 30 rooms. Most rooms have ski area views. There are also Norwegian Villas for family ski travel.
