It tells the stories of the Burakumin and Korean communities who have called Naniwa home. Sadly, much of Naniwa Ward’s past was tragically erased during World War II. Air raids in March 1945 decimated the area. Very few pre-war buildings survived. But from the ashes, a new Naniwa emerged. Today, it boasts modern marvels like the sprawling Namba Parks complex. This massive structure seamlessly blends shopping, dining, and entertainment. Naniwa Ward is also a haven for tech enthusiasts. It’s home to Nipponbashi, better known as Den Den Town. Here, electronics stores line the streets, a testament to Osaka’s reputation for cutting-edge technology. Capcom and SNK, two giants in the gaming world, also have their headquarters in Naniwa Ward. Just south of Den Den Town lies Shin Sekai, a vibrant entertainment district. Its iconic Tsutenkaku Tower stands tall, a symbol of Osaka’s resilience. And don’t forget the Imamiya Ebisu Shrine. This historic shrine hosts the vibrant Toka Ebisu Festival, a celebration of commerce and prosperity.
