Envision yourself stepping back in time to 1994. Nam Seoul University first opened its doors as Southern Seoul Industrial University. It was a time of great excitement and anticipation. The university launched with nine departments, ready to shape the future of its students. Nam Seoul University, renamed in 1998, quickly became a hub for learning. The original departments included Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information and Technology, Communication Studies, Industrial Design, Business Management, Marketing, English, and Japanese. Over the years, Nam Seoul University continued to grow. Seven more academic departments were added, enriching the university’s offerings. The first graduating class celebrated their achievements in February 1998, marking a significant milestone. Fast forward to 2007. Nam Seoul University established the Graduate School of Child Behavior Therapy, further expanding its reach. In 2008, the university broadened its global presence by opening an International Exchanges and Cooperation Center (IECC) in India. That same year, new programs in Architectural Engineering, Nursing Science, Geriatric Welfare, and Clinical Pathology were introduced. Recognizing the growing demand for global education, Nam Seoul University began offering master’s degrees taught in English in 2016. Initially housed under the Korean Graduate School’s Global Education Institute, these programs flourished. By 2017, the program’s growth led to the creation of the Nam Seoul University International Graduate School. Today, Nam Seoul University is a testament to its commitment to education. It continues to empower students to achieve their dreams and make a difference in the world.
