You see, N’akama is short for ‘Akanin’ny Marenina’, a center established in Antsirabe in 1985 by the Malagasy Lutheran Church. Driven by the pleas of parents seeking specialized education for their hearing-impaired children, a branch of N’akama was soon established, right here in Antananarivo. N’akama isn’t just a school. It’s a place where children, aged 5 to 23, embrace life beyond limitations. Imagine learning carpentry, sewing, or even computer skills, all within the nurturing embrace of this unique institution.
