Peeking through the Moscow cityscape lies Nagatino-Sadovniki District. It is an administrative district of Moscow. Nagatino-Sadovniki is one of 125 districts within the city.
Nagatino-Sadovniki spans approximately 8.17 square kilometers. As of 2024, Nagatino-Sadovniki has a population of 83390. This makes for a population density of 9213.6 people per square kilometer.
Let’s delve into the past. In 1991 Moscow’s old district divisions were abolished. Administrative districts were formed. The Southern Administrative District was created. The Nagatino-Sadovniki temporary Municipal District was born as part of the Southern Administrative District. It officially became the Nagatino-Sadovniki district of Moscow on July 5 1995.
The boundaries of Nagatino-Sadovniki are defined by Moscow law. They run along Andropov Avenue and the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. They also follow Kashirskoye Highway and the Paveletsky railway branch. The Warsaw Highway and the Moscow Railway’s Small Ring mark other borders. Finally the Moscow riverbed completes the outline to Andropov Avenue.
Nagatino-Sadovniki offers several green spaces. Veterans Square is at the intersection of Sadovniki and Nagatinskaya streets. Landscaping in 2019 created walking alleys and a pergola. A summer stage hosts artists. Recreation areas and tables for board games were also added. The Walk of Fame displays photos of war veterans from Nagatino-Sadovniki.
The apple Orchard runs along Kolomenskoye Passage. A pedestrian zone was created here. Lighting benches and urns were installed. Pedestrian paths were made. Terraces offer space to relax. Information stands share the district’s history. An art installation takes the form of an apple tree.
Yu M Luzhkov Park is another highlight in Nagatino-Sadovniki. It was formerly known as Sadovniki. This park features repaired paths. Landscaping provides a pleasant environment. Benches urns and gazebos invite visitors to rest. Bicycle parking is available. There are playgrounds for children a multifunctional sports ground volleyball courts and a tennis court. A ping-pong court a workout area and a chess club pavilion can be found here. Running and cycling routes wind through the park. A dance floor and a dog walking area are also available. A concrete skate park covers 2750 square meters.
