The Nagai Botanical Garden opened in 1974. It approaches its 50th anniversary. The garden spans about 24.2 hectares. It is home to around 1,200 plant types.

They are available for 30 or more people. People with disability certificates also get free entry. One caregiver is included. Seniors over 65 living in Osaka City also get free entry. You need to show proof of age.

The Nagai Botanical Garden is open from 9:30 to 17:00. These times apply from March to October. Entrance is until 16:30. From November to February, it closes a bit earlier. It is open from 9:30 to 16:30. Entrance then is until 16:00.

Note that the Nagai Botanical Garden closes on Mondays. If Monday is a holiday, it closes the following day. It is also closed during New Year’s. This is from December 28 to January 4.

You can reach the Nagai Botanical Garden easily. Take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Nagai Station. Walk east from Exit 3 about 800 meters. You can take the JR Hanwa Line to Nagai Station. Walk east from the East Exit about 1,000 meters. Or get off at Harinakano Station on the Kintetsu Minami Osaka Line. Then walk west about 800 meters.

Allow about 60 minutes to fully enjoy the Nagai Botanical Garden. But you might want to stay longer. With its diverse plant life and art, the Nagai Botanical Garden offers something for everyone. It is a true urban oasis.
