Behold Marina the largest musical dancing fountain in Italy. It stands here at Palermo Port. It is ready to welcome visitors and enchant the city. Marina transforms Palermo Marina Yachting into a stage. This stage comes alive with majestic choreographies. Water and lights dance to internationally renowned songs.

The Port System Authority of the Western Sicilian Sea commissioned Marina. It is a creative and sustainable artistic work. The fountain summarizes expressive technical and technological capabilities. Technical programmers from Forme d’Acqua worked with light designer arch Simona Marta Favrin to create this.

Marina boasts 141 nozzles and 106 RGBW LED spots. Each one is individually controlled. The design features three concentric rings. Two side wings come out of the larger outer ring. Along the main figure are 64 nozzles. They are powered by two controllable speed pumps. These pumps allow water jets to reach a height of six meters.

A dynamic ring with a six meter diameter makes Marina unique. Six sets generate jets and rotating parabolas. These reach up to 15 meters high. Multidirectional dynamic nozzles create this effect. The smaller ring features six compressed air nozzles. Jets of water can reach 20 meters. They are pushed by two air accumulation and pumping groups. These groups are placed on the ground. Two screw compressors generate a shot effect. This enhances salient passages of songs.

A water screen nozzle sits in the center. It traces the fountain’s entire diameter. Multimedia video projection video mapping and laser shows can be integrated. Corresponding to the 64 nozzles are 80 micron nebulizing nozzles. These create a blanket of scenic and cooling fog.

A dynamic nozzle is installed on the ground. It is near the edge between the main square and the lake. This creates a common thread between water and land. It connects the fountain and the public. All technology is positioned on stainless steel frames. These frames rest on adjustable feet for positioning.

To guarantee maximum sound impact an audio system was designed. It has six full range emission points. These are inside the lake near the fountain. This ensures perfect synchrony between music and water games. It provides 360 degree coverage of sound diffusion.

A 400V electrical panel acts as a single control center. It manages the functioning of all equipment. The system is equipped with a controller. This integrates the 3D design and visualization process in real time.

The selection of songs can be managed via MyFountain. This is an app created by Forme d’Acqua. It allows remote management of the fountains.

The company Cler Cooperativa Lavoratori Elettrici Romani Società Cooperativa commissioned the fountain. It was created with the local partner Ennegi Service Srl.

Marina takes its name from Gianni Rodari’s fairy tale The Siren of Palermo. The story speaks of love inclusion and uniqueness. A poor fisherman from Palermo finds the little mermaid. He welcomes her into his family. Soon he discovers her gift for narrating events and stories. These are stories of reality and fantasy from all peoples and all times. Likewise Marina enchants passers by visitors and workers of the Port of Palermo. It enchants with songs and dancing jets.

Sustainability is a distinctive factor. The water used is always the same. This is thanks to a filtration and recirculation system. Electricity consumption is minimal. The fountain uses energy saving technologies.

Marina is more than a fountain. It is a symbol of innovation creativity and sustainability. It transforms the heart of the Port of Palermo into a breathtaking stage.
