Here stands Mushallah At Taqwa a sanctuary renewed by community spirit. This place wasn’t always so welcoming. Once, it was a dilapidated space. Its roof leaked and its structure was worn. Imagine praying in a place like that.

But the story of Mushallah At Taqwa took a turn for the better. LAZ Batam stepped in to help. They recognized the need for a proper prayer space. The community included local residents and hard-working charcoal workers. These workers lacked a dedicated place for prayer.

LAZ Batam sought donations to renovate Mushallah At Taqwa. Kind donors contributed to the cause. The renovations began during Ramadan and finished in late September 2021. The transformation included replacing the roof and ceiling. Workers also replaced the doors and gave the building a fresh coat of paint.

However, the renovations weren’t complete. The ablution area still needed work. LAZ Batam planned to continue the construction. They also aimed to provide religious guidance. The plan was to assign a da’i to the area. This da’i would guide the community and teach children to recite the Quran.

The community expressed their gratitude. They wanted a permanent da’i to reside there. Due to limited resources, LAZ Batam found a temporary solution. They assigned a da’i from Pulau Kampung Baru to assist the Ulu Sadap community.

On September 28, the renovated Mushallah At Taqwa was handed over to the community. Darwis hoped the restored musholla would encourage regular prayers. He also hoped children would actively learn the Quran there. The musholla could also serve travelers passing through.

Syarifuddin shared similar sentiments. He hoped the new house of worship would strengthen the community’s faith. He thanked the donors for their support. Their contributions made the renovation possible. He hoped for more impactful programs from LAZ Batam in the future.

Today, Mushallah At Taqwa stands as a testament. It shows what a community can achieve together. The building serves as a place of worship. It is also a symbol of unity and compassion. It is a reminder of the importance of faith and community support. Remember the story of Mushallah At Taqwa. It is a story of renewal and hope. It is a story that reflects the spirit of Batam.
