The Musée du Judaïsme Marocain stands as the first of its kind in North Africa and the Middle East, a beacon preserving a unique cultural tapestry. Originally built in 1948, the building housed the Home d’Enfants Murdock Bengio, an orphanage dedicated to protecting Jewish children. In the mid-1990s, the orphanage closed, paving the way for a transformation. Extensive renovations breathed new life into the structure, culminating in the museum’s opening in 1997. The Musée du Judaïsme Marocain isn’t just a repository of artifacts; it’s a journey through time. Inside, five exhibition rooms showcase the daily lives of Moroccan Jews. Two rooms are meticulously recreated synagogues, offering a glimpse into spiritual life.
