Revving up for a ride through history. Welcome to Murray’s Motorcycle Museum. This isn’t just any museum. It’s a testament to the Isle of Man’s love affair with motorcycles.

Murray’s Motorcycle Museum started in Santon Villa. Peter Murray’s father Charlie began the collection in 1954. It started small but grew quickly. Soon Santon Villa couldn’t contain it all. The collection moved to Christian Street in Peel. Then for 37 years it thrived at the Bungalow on the famous TT Mountain Course. It became a biker’s Mecca a must-see attraction.

But even legendary museums face challenges. Rising costs and lease renewals forced a difficult decision. Many motorcycles were sold to fund the relocation. A particularly poignant sale involved a 1961 Honda works 125cc twin racer. This wasn’t just any bike. It was a gift from Mr Honda himself. He’d presented it to Charlie Murray years before. The museum sold it back to Honda. They wanted it back badly. It’s thought this bike was ridden by Kunimitsu Takahashi. He won the 1961 Ulster Grand Prix with it.

After the sales and move back to Santon the museum continued. Today it’s a treasure trove. You’ll find a huge collection of vintage and modern bikes. There’s also memorabilia parts and even a unique blue Triumph barber’s chair where Peter holds court.

Murray’s Motorcycle Museum is more than a collection. It’s a living story. A legacy of passion speed and the Isle of Man’s unique contribution to motorcycle history. Enjoy your visit to this hidden gem.
