“This year, let’s shake things up a bit!”, the curator announced, holding up a black and white color palette. Right in front of you, the Mural da Restauraçao isn’t just a static piece of art. It’s a canvas for artistic expression that changes its appearance every year. This unique project, nestled along Rua da Restauraçao, started in 2014. Each year, a jury carefully selects seven artists from Portugal to revamp the mural, using a specific color scheme. This year, the artists had to work their magic using only black and white. Imagine the challenge! Fourteen modules, spanning over 70 meters, once vibrantly adorned with violet hues by artists like Mura and Joana Hoje, await their new attire. These modules, by the way, are part of the support system for the beautiful Jardins do Palacio de Cristal. And who knows what creative expressions await us on the Mural da Restauraçao next year?
