The Palazzo De Capitani stands before us, its grand facade a testament to a rich history. This imposing building, now the Municipio di Concorezzo, holds within its walls the essence of this charming town. Originally a grand manor, the De Capitani family, hailing from the Val di Scalve, built this residence in the late 17th century. Pirro De Capitani, invested with the rich and fertile local feud, likely commissioned the building. The U-shaped structure, with its central portico, exudes elegance and sophistication. This majestic building, with its three stories, was a symbol of the De Capitani family’s prosperity and influence within Concorezzo. The family’s male line eventually died out in 1841, with the last De Capitani, Marchesa Laura, ultimately selling the manor to the town in 1878. Today, we stand at the heart of Concorezzo, where this magnificent edifice, once a symbol of noble lineage, has been transformed into a vital community center. The Municipio di Concorezzo now serves as a vibrant hub of civic activity and a testament to the town’s ever-evolving identity.
