Ever wondered where M\u00fcnster’s sky-high adventures begin? This is the M\u00fcnster-Telgte Airfield. It is more than just a runway. This airfield is a launchpad for dreams.
The M\u00fcnster-Telgte Airfield opened its gates in 1964. Since then, it has been a hub for general aviation enthusiasts. Located between Telgte and M\u00fcnster, the airfield welcomes pilots and aviation lovers.
Planes up to 5,700 kg can take off here. Motor gliders and ultra-light aircraft also use this airfield. Even helicopters up to 7,000 kg and free balloons are permitted.
But it is not only for takeoffs and landings. Five flying clubs call the M\u00fcnster-Telgte Airfield home. They provide flight training and foster a love for aviation. The Fallschirmsportclub M\u00fcnster is also based here. Its Cessna Caravan takes skydivers to Sendenhorst. Banners are also towed over M\u00fcnster, starting from here.
Let us explore the airfield itself. The main asphalt runway stretches 850 meters long and 20 meters wide. It runs almost perfectly east to west. North of the main runway, a grass strip awaits glider pilots. This 990-meter strip allows for airplane and winch launches. Motor plane pilots fly south at 1,000 feet MSL.
Hangars dot the landscape. They house private and club aircraft. The visitor terrace offers stunning views. Watch planes taxi, take off, and land. You can almost feel the rumble of the engines.
The M\u00fcnster-Telgte Airfield provides essential fuels. Super Plus for ultra-light aircraft is available. AvGas 100 LL and Jet A-1 are also on offer.

The Aero-Club M\u00fcnster-Telgte operates the airfield. They focus on sustainable air traffic development. They offer bicycle rentals for exploring the M\u00fcnsterland region. Cycle paths along the Ems and Werse rivers are nearby.
The M\u00fcnster-Telgte Airfield suffered some accidents. In 2010, a Beechcraft Debonair crashed short of the runway. All four people on board were seriously injured. In 2014, an ultra-light aircraft crashed. A tow rope struck the propeller. The two occupants died from their injuries.
Despite these incidents, the M\u00fcnster-Telgte Airfield remains a vibrant place. It welcomes pilots and aviation fans. This airfield is more than just a place to fly. It is a place where dreams take flight.
