What fuels a dream of space travel from the heart of Bangkok? Here at Mu Space, that dream is being forged into reality. Mu Space, a private aerospace manufacturer and internet service provider, is making its mark on Southeast Asia’s space aspirations. Founded in June 2017 by James Yenbamroong, Mu Space isn’t just reaching for the stars, they are building the technology to get there. Mu Space Corp. secured launch contracts with Blue Origin and Relativity Space, a testament to their ambition. In December 2017, the company received a 15-year license from Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission to offer satellite services, solidifying their place in the nation’s future. Mu Space has already dipped its toes into the cosmos. In 2018, they conducted micro-gravity experiments on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. Later that year, they unveiled futuristic spacesuit designs, a glimpse into their vision for space tourism. Mu Space isn’t just focused on the vastness of space. They are also addressing the needs of Thailand’s rural communities. In partnership with TOT Public Company Limited, they are developing a geostationary satellite network to bring broadband to underserved areas. Here, at Mu Space’s Factory 2, unveiled in late 2021, the hum of innovation is palpable. This facility focuses on developing the intricate electronics and power systems that drive their satellites. Mu Space represents Thailand’s bold leap into the space age, a blend of ambitious goals and practical solutions. Their commitment to technological advancement and national progress leaves a lasting legacy, proving that even the sky isn’t the limit from right here in Bangkok.
