A new software venture called ComSoft developed communication software. MTNL introduced CDMA 1x 2000 Technology under the brand Garuda 1-x in 2003. They also launched ADSL based Broadband services and Virtual Phone services.

In 2008, MTNL received the International Long Distance license. This allowed them to carry their own traffic. They aimed to provide world-class telecom and IT services at affordable prices. In 2023-24, MTNL launched 4G services in Delhi and Mumbai.
