Prince Shotoku built the Ikaruga Palace. He invited the guardian deity of Asuka to Kamioka Shrine on Mt. Mimuro.

At the foot of Mt. Mimuro, there is a monument. It honors Nouin Houshi and Ariwara no Narihira. Mt. Mimuro is a Utamakura. It is written about in Kokinshu and Shuishu. It appears with the Tatsuta River.

Nouin Hoshi is known for his poem about the Tatsuta River. A five-ring pagoda sits at the top of Mt. Mimuro.
