Recognizable from miles away, Mount Pisgah stands as a prominent peak. Today, we will explore its unique history. Mount Pisgah in Northborough, Massachusetts, reaches an elevation of 715 feet. That is about 218 meters.

Mount Pisgah offers scenic vistas. On a clear day, you can see the Boston skyscrapers from here. The area consists of hardwood forests that were once farmland.

The summit marks the crossing of the Summit and Tyler Trails. Look for the cairn. The marker is to the right.

In June 2005, the Northborough Trails Committee took over trail maintenance. They maintain about three miles of trails. This happened under a stewardship agreement with MassWildlife. The trails are on the south end of Mount Pisgah. The Fisher Trail and part of the Vernal Pool Trail are on private property. Landowners allow public use of these trails. Motorized vehicles are prohibited from MassWildlife property.

In 2006, the Sudbury Valley Trustees created a new map of the Mount Pisgah Conservation Area. The map shows all trails open to the public. These trails run from the MassWildlife land to Linden Street in Berlin.

The Mount Pisgah Conservation Area includes lands owned by Berlin and Northborough. Mass Fish and Wildlife also owns land here. Some areas are privately owned.

Mount Pisgah has challenging terrain. Its trails are some of the hilliest in the region. You will find sweeping views across a hayfield along Linden Street. The Warren S. Oberg Overlook provides views east to the Boston skyline. There are also crossings over tumbling streams.

In fall 2022, SVT and the Town of Berlin added 100 acres to the Mount Pisgah Conservation Area. They protected the Horseshoe Pond property. This linked its trails to the Mount Pisgah network.

Hunting is allowed on Town of Berlin lands. It is also allowed on Dept of Fish and Game land. Northborough Wildlife Cons Easement allows hunting too. Some private properties also permit hunting. Be aware of hunting seasons. Consider wearing blaze orange.

Mount Pisgah inspires visitors. Its beauty and natural resources attract people. The area is often covered in clouds and fog. Wildflowers bloom beautifully here in the summer. In the fall, the changing leaves display vibrant colors.

Mount Pisgah is a special place. It offers hiking trails and a picnic area. You can also find a campground, a country store, and the Pisgah Inn and Restaurant here. It is a destination that people love to return to.
