Today, the defense serves as a private residence of the royal family of Jaipur. Though the fort is closed to the public, its exterior beauty attracts many visitors.

Near the Moti Doongri Fort is the Moti Doongri Ganesh Temple. A legend tells of a king of Mewar. He was returning home with a Ganesh idol on a bullock cart. The king declared he would build a temple wherever the cart stopped. The cart stopped at the foot of Moti Doongri. The temple was built there. Seth Jai Ram Paliwal and Mahant Shiv Narain built the temple. Construction was completed in 1761. The temple’s design is inspired by a Scottish castle. It is constructed in the shape of a pagoda.
