Morayfield’s growth is evidenced by its schools. Caboolture State School opened in 1873. Later renamed Caboolture South State School and then Morayfield State School in 1908. The original building remains a heritage listed testament to Morayfield’s history. Morayfield State High School opened in 1981. Today it boasts over 1600 students. Minimbah State School and Morayfield East State School followed adding to Morayfield’s educational infrastructure. Carmichael College a private school opened in 2015 expanding to offer secondary education.
The Morayfield Shopping Centre a vital hub opened in 1997 expanding in 2005. It serves as the commercial heart of Morayfield. The Bruce Highway and Caboolture railway line provide crucial transport links. These connect Morayfield to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Despite its convenient location Morayfield’s public bus system presents challenges. Long detours and limited services make journeys time consuming.
Morayfield faced adversity. In January 2011 parts of the town were inundated during Queensland’s devastating floods. The experience left a mark on the community but also underlined its resilience.
