Rosalia was declared a saint, and the sanctuary was built in her honor. Today, pilgrims still climb the mountain, following in Rosalia’s footsteps, seeking solace and connection. They retrace the ancient pilgrimage route known as “Acchianata,” a challenging 7.8 km trek with over 11,000 steps.
