But how did this ambitious project come about? The creation of Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence is part of the United Arab Emirates strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031. This strategy also led to the appointment of the world’s first Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence offers students full scholarships. These scholarships include a monthly allowance health insurance and accommodation. The university also arranges internships with local and global companies. Though classes were to start in September 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the start to January 2021.

Interestingly, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence secured its first patent from the US Patent Office. This patent is for a handwriting generation system. It mimics a person’s handwriting style using AI.
