Miracle Gospel Tabernacle has a food pantry on site. Pastor Yvette Harper created it over twenty years ago. Since the Miracle Gospel Tabernacle food pantry program launched, thousands have received support. The new pantry represents a necessary expansion of Miracle Gospel Tabernacle.
Pastor Harper said that God placed them where the need is so great. It’s pretty much a food desert in that area. Although there’s a local grocery store nearby, there are no major chains in that area. These chains would offer quality food at a reasonable price.
Miracle Gospel Tabernacle also runs a Mobile Food Pantry. It extends the church’s outreach efforts beyond its physical location. Volunteers help with these outreach programs. They support the operations of the food pantry. They assist in carrying heavy boxes of food to the cars. This ensures that older members can easily access their meals. Their efforts make a difference in the community.
Miracle Gospel Tabernacle partners with Forgotten Harvest. This ensures the pantry consistently supplies essential food items. Contributions from the congregation and local residents are pivotal. The collaboration with Forgotten Harvest amplifies the impact of these donations. It enables the pantry to serve more individuals and families in need.
Pastor Harper finds it rewarding. The residents are used to seeing the building in shambles. Seeing it now resurrected and looking beautiful is a great service to the community.
The food pantry operates twice a month. It is open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. It offers a wide range of fresh produce, canned goods, and non-perishables. To assist seniors, the disabled, and families with young children, food boxes are brought directly to their vehicles.
