In 2002 Dr Darrow Perkins Jr became the pastor. He served in the US Marine Corps while also pastoring at Linda Vista Second Baptist Church. Dr Perkins’ dedication is remarkable. He juggled military duties with his pastoral role. He retired from the Marines in 2003 to devote himself fully to Mira Mesa Bible Baptist Church. His wife Teresa and their children have been a vital part of the church’s life. Under Dr Perkins’ leadership the church continued to flourish. New disciples joined and many were baptized. Associate ministers such as Reverend Joe Baker and Reverend Dewel Jamison helped him. Brother Robert Williams and Brother Andrew Griffin were also instrumental in the church’s ministry.
