This museum is more than just a building. It is a repository of memories. It’s a place where the past whispers to the present. Welcome to the Minzhi Village History Museum.

Minzhi Village History Museum is in Longhua District. It covers an area of 7455 square meters. It showcases the revolutionary struggle of Minzhi people. It also reveals the historical changes of Minzhi village. The museum highlights their great contribution to the Hong Kong rescue.

Minzhi village boasts a glorious revolutionary tradition. During the Anti-Japanese War, the people carried out vigorous activities. These activities focused on anti-Japanese efforts and national salvation. The headquarters of Dongjiang column was located in Minzhi village. This column shocked South China.

The Minzhi Village History Museum stands as a testament. It reflects the spirit and resilience of the people. Their contributions shaped not only Minzhi but also the broader region.

Baishilong village in Minzhi Street was known as little Yan’an during the Anti-Japanese War. It holds a significant place in Chinese revolutionary war history. From 1940 to 1942, Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese guerrilla forces had their headquarters in Baishilong. This was under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. A rear hospital and an arms factory were established. A grain station newspaper office and radio station were also set up. These facilities were hidden in the dense forest of Shankeng. It was at the foot of Yaji mountain. Baishilong became the center of the Yangtai mountain Anti-Japanese base at that time.

In December 1941 the Pacific War broke out. The Japanese army quickly occupied Hong Kong. Many mainland intellectuals and well-known figures were trapped. They had been carrying out anti-Japanese work in Hong Kong. They found themselves in a dangerous situation. Zhou Enlai instructed the CPC to act. The Guangdong local organization of the CPC made careful deployments. The underground organization of the CPC in Hong Kong helped. The Dongjiang people’s Anti-Japanese guerrillas played a crucial role. Over 800 people from progressive cultural circles disappeared. They included Zou Taofen Mao Dun and Zhang Youyu. These patriots quietly left Hong Kong. They appeared in Baishilong village. They lived in the Caoliniao guest house. The Anti-Japanese masses built this guesthouse.

The Minzhi Village History Museum isn’t merely about artifacts. It is about the people who lived and fought here. It is about their sacrifices and their triumphs.

Consider this: Minzhi is more than just a place on a map. It is a symbol of resistance. It stands for resilience and community spirit. It embodies the spirit of those who risked everything for a better future. The Minzhi Village History Museum invites you to reflect on this legacy.
