From these very grounds rose a legacy. A legacy of design and architectural innovation. This is the Gazi University Faculty of Architecture.

Its story begins not here but with two separate entities. Zafer College of Engineering and Architecture founded in 1966. Yükseliş College School of Architecture followed in 1967. These institutions merged in 1971 forming ADMMA. Ankara State Academy of Engineering and Architecture. ADMMA then became part of Gazi University in 1982. Finally in 2009 it received its current name. The Gazi University Faculty of Architecture.

The Faculty boasts three distinct departments. Architecture City and Regional Planning and Industrial Design. Each offers undergraduate and graduate programs. In the 2020-2021 academic year there were 1484 undergraduates. 664 chose Architecture. 406 selected City and Regional Planning. 98 opted for Industrial Design. Graduate enrollment was substantial too. A total of 688 postgraduate students. This included Master’s and PhD candidates.

The building itself is impressive. It shares 70000 square meters of indoor space with the Faculty of Engineering. Recent additions increased this space to 83000 square meters. Three gymnasiums two dining halls and a student cafeteria were added. Two parking garages covering 6000 square meters are also available.

The Gazi University Faculty of Architecture holds high rankings. Its Architecture Department ranked 7th among 44 state universities. Its City and Regional Planning Department ranked 8th among 20. The Industrial Design Department earned a 7th-place ranking among 16. This reflects the high quality of education. The university also has strong international ties. 5% of its student body is international. 30% of the courses are taught in English. Its Architecture and City and Regional Planning departments even offer fully English-taught graduate programs.

More than just bricks and mortar. This building represents the dedication to architectural excellence. A commitment to nurturing future generations of architects planners and designers.
