Mihama Utase Elementary School is a two-story structure. It was designed by the architectural firm CAt, led by Kazuhiro Kojima and Kazuko Akamatsu. Kojima, born in Osaka in 1958, boasts a prestigious background. He graduated from Kyoto University and completed his Master’s at the University of Tokyo. Akamatsu, born in Tokyo in 1968, brings her unique perspective. She is a graduate of Japan Women’s University and a key partner at CAt. Mihama Utase Elementary School is more than just bricks and mortar. It represents the hopes and dreams of a community invested in its children’s future. It stands as a beacon of knowledge.
