The Middle Village Veterans Triangle, a small park, holds a monumental granite stone. It was initially dedicated to the members of Middle Village Post 784 who fought in World War I. The inscription, however, now honors all those who served their country in times of war. The monument bears the scars of time and additions, marking conflicts from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. This quiet corner of Middle Village became a park in 1999. It was renovated thanks to funding from Mayor Giuliani. Now the triangle bursts with shrubs, ferns, and ivy, centered around a stately London plane tree. This verdant space isn’t just a memorial.
