Initially named Societe Evangelique de Tananarive the church later became known as MET Mission Evangelique de Tananarive. It later evolved into METM reflecting its national reach. The name change happened in August 1994 during an annual meeting in Ambaiboho Ambatondrazaka. The METM’s growth is remarkable. From humble beginnings with just six women attending the first service in a private home it expanded to encompass hundreds of churches across Madagascar. Today it boasts approximately 700 churches spread throughout the island nation. This vast network has contributed to the spiritual lives of over 700000 Christians.
