Interestingly, Melvindale High School wasn’t always in Melvindale. It’s a bit of a geographical quirk. The high school is actually located in Allen Park Michigan.

Track and field is available for both boys and girls. Cheerleading is available for girls. Bowling is available for both boys and girls. Football is available for boys. Soccer is available for both boys and girls.
Melvindale High School has a major sports rival. It is Allen Park High School. The rivalry is called “The Battle of Two Brothers.” Allen Park is considered the “Big Brother”. Melvindale High School is the “Little Brother”. Allen Park is a bigger school in a bigger city. Allen Park neighbors Melvindale.
Several notable people attended Melvindale High School. Al Cicotte played Major League Baseball. He played for several teams including the New York Yankees. William D Ford was a US Representative from Michigan. Mickey Goodwin a professional boxer, is also an alumnus. He graduated in 1976.
