During Ramadan in 2024, the city government embarked on a series of visits to local mosques. On the eighth night, they visited Masjid Nurul Qomar in Sekupang. This visit was part of a larger initiative to connect with the community and showcase the city’s development efforts. Jefridin, the Secretary of Batam City, addressed the attendees. He highlighted the city’s focus on infrastructure and human capital. He spoke of incentives for religious leaders and teachers. He mentioned the Wali Kota’s commitment to efficient budgeting, even foregoing international travel expenses. Jefridin emphasized the importance of public support for ongoing infrastructure projects. He explained how tourist spending contributes to the city’s revenue, fueling further development. The Safari Ramadhan program involved three groups, led by key city figures. This visit to Masjid Nurul Qomar included a donation of 50 million rupiah for the mosque’s construction. The mosque’s representatives expressed their gratitude for the contribution. They pledged to use the funds to enhance the mosque’s facilities. This act of generosity underscores the community spirit surrounding Masjid Nurul Mustaqim.
