Did you know the roof needed repair? Built in the 1990s, the roof hadn’t seen significant repairs. It had suffered damage. Parts of the mosque needed upgrades. This was to make worshipers more comfortable. In 2019, significant renovations were underway. The administrators expressed gratitude. They thanked the congregation for their donations. These donations enabled the building work.
The community came together. They worked to install a new dome. By late February 2020, the dome installation was nearly complete. The next phase involved installing a ceiling. The community continued to seek donations. This was to ensure the work could continue smoothly.
Alhamdulillah, sections of the roof received new GRC motif cladding. GRC is glass fiber reinforced concrete. It added a decorative touch. Lightning rods were ready for installation. The frame of the roof was 100% complete.
Masjid Jami’ Baloi Centre also organizes community events. There was a mass circumcision for less fortunate residents. This was in collaboration with Klinik Mitra Bunda. The mosque also hosted a gathering. It was for the Indonesian Hajj Brotherhood Association of Lubuk Baja.
During Ramadan, Masjid Jami’ Baloi Centre was a hub of activity. There were scenes of people preparing to break their fast. People gathered before Tarawih prayers. Teenagers and mothers participated in tadarus. Tadarus is a recitation of the Quran.
