Ever heard of a scholar whose dream inspired generations? Welcome to Masjid Ibn Utheimin. This mosque commemorates Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymin. He was a renowned Saudi Islamic scholar. Let’s uncover his story.

Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymin was born in 1929. It was the 27th night of Ramadan. Muslims believe this night could be Laytul Qadr. This is when the Quran was first revealed. His family was known for religious scholarship.

A dream shaped his destiny. His great-grandfather dreamed of Ibn Taymiyyah. Ibn Taymiyyah gave him a lamp. Dream interpreters said his son would be pious. He would be knowledgeable in religion. Thus, Sheikh Muhammad’s path began.

After memorizing the Quran he studied under prominent sheikhs. He learned from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Mutawwa and Ali al-Salihi. Later, he studied with Sheikh Abd al-Rahman al-Sa’di. In 1952, he enrolled in Ma’had al-‘Ilmi in Riyadh. There he studied under Ibn Baz.

Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymin returned to Unayzah after two years. He began teaching. He continued studying under al-Sa’di. His influence grew.

His teachings included spiritual insights. He outlined four levels of spiritual response to a calamity. These were discontentment patience acceptance and gratitude.

Sheikh Muhammad also wrote many books. These included “The Beautiful Names and Attributes of Allah.” He also wrote “How to Perform the Rituals of Hajj Umrah and Visiting the Prophet’s Masjid.” His works offered guidance to Muslims worldwide.

Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymin died in 2001 at age 71. His legacy lives on. Masjid Ibn Utheimin stands as a testament to his contributions.

This mosque is more than just a building. It is a place of reflection and learning. It is a place that honors a great scholar. It can accommodate 8000 to 10000 people. The mosque spans 10000 square meters. The postal code of Masjid Ibn Utheimin is 56219.
