Peeking out from within the Anbariya train station is the Masjid As Saeaty. This mosque stands as a testament to faith and history. We are standing before a place touched by the Prophet Muhammad himself.

Masjid As Saeaty is also known as the Mosque of Al Suqya. It holds a special place in Islamic tradition. Its story begins long before the ornate details we see today.

The Prophet Muhammad journeyed out for the Battle of Badr. It was on this very ground that verse Quran 8:7 was descended. Masjid As Saeaty marks the spot. Imagine the weight of those words.

Accounts in Hadith tell of the Prophet performing ablution here. He used water from the Suqya well. This well was owned by Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas. It was located to the south. The Prophet drank from it. His army also quenched their thirst.

Umar, a key figure in Islamic history, led the Istiqlaa prayer here. This is a prayer for rain. He did so at the request of Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib. This highlights the mosque’s importance in times of need.

Originally, the Masjid As Saeaty was named after the Suqya well. The well played a vital role in the Prophet’s journey. It provided essential water for his army.

Omar bin Abdulaziz built the first mosque on this site. He wanted to honor the Prophet’s prayer. Over time, the mosque faced deterioration. Yet, it was rebuilt. It was rebuilt on the same sacred ground.

Today, Masjid As Saeaty boasts three domes. It reflects Umayyad architectural influences. The mosque stretches 56 meters wide. King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz oversaw a restoration. This ensured its preservation for future generations.

The Messenger of Allah invoked blessings here. He prayed that Allah would bless the people of Madinah in their trade. He asked that sustenance would come from everywhere.

In this place, the Prophet declared Madinah a sanctuary. This is similar to how Ibrahim declared Makkah a sanctuary. Masjid As Saeaty stands on blessed ground.

Masjid As Saeaty is more than just a building. It connects us to pivotal moments in Islamic history. It reminds us of the Prophet’s journey. It speaks of prayers answered. It shows the importance of community. Take a moment to appreciate the spiritual significance of this place. Reflect on the stories held within these walls. Consider the echoes of prayers that still resonate here at Masjid As Saeaty.
