Gazing upon Masjid Al Ijabah, one can almost hear the echoes of a profound prayer. This mosque, also known as Bani Muawiyah Mosque or Al-Mubahalah Mosque, holds a special place in Islamic history. Built during the time of Prophet Muhammad, it stands on land once owned by Muawiyah bin Malik bin ‘Auf of the Al-Aus tribe. Masjid Al Ijabah is more than just stones and mortar. Upon returning from Al-Aliyah, Prophet Muhammad entered Masjid Al Ijabah and prayed two rakats. His companions followed suit. After a long prayer, the Prophet revealed he had asked Allah for three things. Two were granted: protection from famine and flooding for his Ummah. His third request, however, was not fulfilled. He had prayed for an end to strife and bloodshed amongst his people. This poignant moment at Masjid Al Ijabah underscores a timeless truth.
