This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Legend says Lord Shiva himself established it after Lord Krishna’s birth in Mathura. That makes this temple over 5000 years old.

The temple’s architecture depicts scenes from Hindu mythology. Raja Man Singh a Rajput ruler built this temple in the medieval period. Later the Mughal Emperor Akbar renovated it.

Planning your visit? The Shri Mankameshwar Mandir is open every day. From 5 am to 12 pm and again from 4 pm to 10 pm you can visit the temple. On Mondays the temple stays open until 11 pm. Entry to the temple is free.

Aarti and Darshan timings are specific. Mangal Aarti is at 5:00 am. Abhishek Aarti follows at 6:00 am. Shringar Darshan occurs from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Raj bhog Darshan is from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm. In the evening Utthapan is from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Sandhya Darshan takes place from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

When visiting Shri Mankameshwar Mandir remember a sacramental act. Do not wear any leather items. Avoid English dressing styles like salwaar suits pyjamas and pants. Instead wear traditional Indian clothes like Dhoti and Saree.
