Could you believe that Makuhari-sogo Senior High School started as a comprehensive selective high school? That was in 1996. I am excited to share its story.
Makuhari-sogo Senior High School is located in Mihama-ku Chiba City. It stands as a testament to educational evolution. The Shibuya Kyouiku Gakuen operates it. It is now among Japan’s top 5 high schools. This is based on the number of students accepted by top national universities.
In 2003, Makuhari-sogo shifted gears. It became a special academic-track school. A nursing course was established in 2004. The General Course followed in 2019.
Makuhari-sogo Senior High School embraces two core mottos. These are Dokuritsu Jison that means Independence and Self-respect. The other is Kyocho Shinwa or Cooperative Affinity. The school wants students to judge and think for themselves. They should act responsibly. Makuhari-sogo also wants students to treasure relationships. They should learn from each other.

Makuhari-sogo has a large scale. There are about 2160 students in 54 classes. The teaching staff includes about 200 members. The integrated course has seven 45-minute classes daily. The Nursing Course has six 50-minute classes.
