Dreaming of a refreshing escape in the heart of Frankfurt? That dream is now reality at Main Bad Bornheim. For over 40 years, Frankfurt has waited for a new swimming pool. Finally, Main Bad Bornheim has opened its doors. It is a brand-new family pool.

The location is perfect. Main Bad Bornheim sits near the ice rink in Bornheim. But how did this new pool get its name?

Citizens played a vital role in the naming. A digital competition invited suggestions. From November 1 to 20, 2024, people submitted their ideas. Over 1,000 entries poured in. A jury narrowed it down to five finalists.

The finalists showcased diverse ideas. Ernst-May-Bad honored a German architect. Erlebnisbad Bornheim suggested adventure. Martha-Wertheimer-Bad recognized an educator. Bornheimer Welle evoked a wave. But Main Bad Bornheim captured the essence.

Citizens voted on the Frankfurt baths website. The name “Main Bad Bornheim” won. It reflects Frankfurt’s connection to the Main River.

Mayor Mike Josef expressed his enthusiasm. He was impressed by the public’s interest. He believes the pool will be well-received. The pool’s importance to Bornheim and Frankfurt is clear.

Boris Zielinski, Managing Director, agreed. “Main Bad Bornheim” links water and the Main. It is a strong name for a strong spa.

The opening of Main Bad Bornheim marks a change. The Panoramabad in Bornheim will close. Main Bad Bornheim promises a modern experience.
