Is it true that Magnolia Train Station wasn’t originally in a town called Magnolia? It’s a fascinating fact. The original train station was built in 1890. Back then, this very spot was part of a town called “Greenland”. The train station already bore the name Magnolia. It wasn’t until 1888 that the town decided to adopt the name of the station. And it took even longer, until 1915, for Magnolia Borough to be officially incorporated. So, the Magnolia Train Station predates the town itself! This station has even more stories up its sleeve. Today, the Magnolia Historical Society calls this station home. They’ve preserved a remarkable collection of documents, photos, and artifacts, giving us a glimpse into Magnolia’s past. Next time you’re here, look out for their rotating exhibits. They offer a unique window into the town’s history, featuring everything from old toys and trains to World War II memorabilia. They even have old tools! Visiting the Magnolia Train Station is like taking a step back in time.
