Thats the Department of Mining Engineering at the Middle East Technical University, or METU. This department, founded in 1960, was created with a vision. That vision was to build a future where Turkey could confidently mine its own resources. This goal was powered by a dedicated team of engineers trained right here within these walls. In fact, this program has a long history of excellence. It was the first in all of Turkey to receive accreditation in mining engineering from ABET, a globally recognized standard-bearer, in 1994.
