“Ever wonder where science and fun collide in Haifa?” Welcome to Madatech, Israel’s National Museum of Science, Technology, and Space. Established in 1983, Madatech isn’t just a museum. It’s an adventure. It brings science to life for kids and adults alike.

This building has a story. It was the original home of the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. Alexander Baerwald, a German Jewish immigrant, designed it. Work started in 1912. Even Albert Einstein visited in 1923. He planted a palm tree in the courtyard. You can still see it today.

Inside Madatech, prepare to be amazed. There are over 600 interactive exhibits. Touch everything. Experience everything. Unravel the secrets of science and technology firsthand. Explore mechanics, electricity, optics, and aeronautics. Discover green energy and more.

Don’t miss the Noble Energy Science Park. It’s an outdoor playground where you can learn through play. Encounter world-changing ideas and inventions. Archimedes sits in a giant bathtub. He’s even wearing a gold crown. This represents his famous “Eureka” moment. He discovered how to measure the volume of irregular objects.

Step into the magic exhibition. Discover the science behind magic tricks. Magnets and mirrors are revealed. Learn about the illusions. See artifacts from the space shuttle Columbia. Remember Ilan Ramon, the Israeli astronaut? His diary page and a burned music CD were rescued.

Explore the Science of the Smile. See an old dental chair and X-ray machine. Learn how to keep your teeth healthy. Pedal a bike in the Green Energy exhibit. Generate electricity to power a model train. Direct a blast of wind to sail a small boat. There’s even a hall of mirrors. Get lost in the optical illusions.

Each year, Madatech hosts international exhibitions. Past exhibits include “Dinosaurs of Patagonia” and “Body Worlds”. “Robotic World”, “Sports Science”, and “Beyond Planet Earth” are also featured. Currently, “Ships and the Sea” is visiting from Finland’s Heureka Museum.

MadaTech is more than just exhibits. It’s an educational center. There are classrooms and laboratories. Students can study physics, chemistry, and robotics. They can explore environmental issues and information security.

The Wanger Family Fab-Lab lets you design and produce with digital tools. Use computerized planning stations and 3D printers. Try the laser cutting system.

Madatech once had a unique movie theater called CinematriX. It combined all the senses. Movies were shown in 3D with moving chairs. There were light effects and even smells. But the CinematriX is now closed. It has been replaced by an immersive digital gallery. It is part of the new innovation center.

Madatech’s story continues. It inspires curiosity and makes science fun. So come explore. Touch, test, and discover. Become part of the ongoing story of Madatech. Let your “Eureka” moment happen here.
