The M.E.R. Museum resides inside the main depot at Derby Castle. This yard developed back in 1893. Inside, the Manx Electric Railway Museum displays a collection of railway artifacts and memorabilia. Imagine items of rolling stock showcased providing great photo opportunities.
The Manx Electric Railway was a pioneering railway. The museum has information boards. These chart the railway’s conception up to the present day.
There are lots of hands-on items. See an old Snaefell controller. Examine an armature from an early tram. It has information sheets about all past and present rolling stock. Behold large old advertising boards displaying original paintings.
The M.E.R. Museum is open on Sundays when the Manx Electric Railway is operating. The museum opens from midday to 4:30pm.
