Descending beneath the Las Vegas Convention Center, we find ourselves at LVCC West Station. This isn’t your typical subway stop. LVCC West Station is a portal to a futuristic transportation system, the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop. This innovative loop whisks convention attendees across the sprawling 200-acre campus in Tesla vehicles. Imagine, instead of a tedious 25-minute walk between halls, you’re zipped through brightly lit tunnels in under two minutes. The LVCC Loop, with LVCC West Station as one of its key access points, opened in June 2021. The system cost $53 million and represents a bold step into the future of urban transportation. This 1.7-mile loop, 40 feet underground, currently utilizes human-driven Teslas. However, the grand vision is for these vehicles to eventually operate autonomously. LVCC West Station, located adjacent to the West Hall, provides easy access to this underground network. While currently free for travel within the convention center grounds, rides extending to off-campus locations like Resorts World require a pass. From LVCC West Station, you can quickly reach the other stations: Central Station beneath the Central Hall, South Station next to the South Hall, and the Riviera Station at the north end of the West Hall near Resorts World. The LVCC West Station isn’t just a time-saver. It’s an experience in itself. The colorful illuminated tunnels have been described as reminiscent of a Disneyland ride, adding a touch of Vegas flair to your commute. So, next time you’re at the Las Vegas Convention Center and need to traverse the vast complex, remember LVCC West Station. It’s more than just a station; it’s a glimpse into the future of transportation, where convenience and innovation converge.
