How about a church that feels like a friendly, caring family? That’s the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation. For over 50 years, the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation has been a welcoming and inclusive community. It acts in service to all of God’s people.
The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation, or ILC as they like to call it, was founded over 60 years ago. It serves Poway and surrounding communities. The church provides ministries for children, youth, adults, and seniors. The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation is an ELCA church.
People at the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation often say how much God loves them. They love being of service in many ways. The members are grateful for their community. They love God and their fellow humans. The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation also has a wonderful music program. It enhances the worship experience. They are working towards a Reconciling in Christ designation.
The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation’s mission is clear. As a nurturing family of believers, they welcome all. They invite people to experience God’s grace and mercy. As Lutherans, they believe in salvation through grace, faith, and scripture.
The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation offers many activities. There is a Men’s Bible Study. It meets at IHOP on Bernardo Center Drive. There are also quilting groups. Piecemakers Quilters meets regularly. The church offers blended worship services every Sunday. These services are held in the Sanctuary. The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation also holds an annual congregational meeting. Kid’s Music & Praise takes place in the Courtyard Classroom. Confirmation classes are available for 6th-8th grade students. A Youth Group meets in the Light House.
The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation hosts several support groups. Alanon meets on Tuesdays. AA Women’s Group meets on Wednesdays. NA Wednesday Group meets in the Conference Room and Gathering Room.
Music is a big part of life here at the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation. Samelak holds organ rehearsals in the Sanctuary. The ILC Adult Choir rehearses in the Music Room and Church.
The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation also supports the wider community. They host an Interfaith Food Drop off in the parking lot. Friendship Quilters of San Diego also meets here. The Stephen Ministry meets in the Conference and Gathering Room. Girl Scout Troop #2750 meets in the Parish Hall. The Green Valley Garden group also uses the Parish Hall.
From its welcoming atmosphere to its many ministries, the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation embodies community. It’s a place where faith, service, and love come together. It enriches the lives of all who enter its doors.
