Middlesex County whispers secrets of its sons. One such whisper tells of Lt. Paul K. Bremner and his memorial. Here at the LT. Paul K. Bremner memorial, we remember a life cut short. Paul K. Bremner called Middlesex County, Massachusetts home. He worked as a financial institution clerk. He was single when he enlisted in the Army in Boston on March 26, 1941. He later married. Lt. Paul K. Bremner served as a bombardier on B-24H #42-50417. His mission on that fateful day took him and his crew of ten from Lecce, Italy, to bomb an engine factory near Munich, Germany. As they approached the target, another B-24, #44-40324, was out of position. In the chaos of the skies, its wing struck Bremner’s fuselage. Both planes crashed near Landshut, Germany. Lt. Paul K. Bremner was killed in action. He received the Air Medal and the Purple Heart. His wife, Marion, lived in Brooklyn, New York. The LT. Paul K. Bremner memorial serves as a poignant reminder of his sacrifice. Remember him, and all those who served alongside him on that tragic mission. Their names, etched in the annals of history, echo here at the LT. Paul K. Bremner memorial.
