The oldest parts of the Loschmidt-Oberschule date back to 1873. Doyler constructed them for the Sophie-Charlotte-Lyzeum. In 1922, the vocational school for metalworkers moved in. Petrick expanded the facility in 1935 and 1936. He added a four-story plastered brick building. The Charlottenburg building authority added another annex in 1956 and 1957.

In 1967, the Gewerbliche Berufsschule VII 3 was named after Johann Joseph Loschmidt. He was an Austrian physicist and chemist. The adjacent street also bears his name. Since 1978, the Loschmidt-Oberschule has been a vocational school. It focuses on special educational needs.

The Loschmidt-Oberschule prepares young people for working life. These young people may face disadvantages when starting their careers. The school also provides training in various professions. Classes cover metalworking and electrical engineering. There are also classes for woodworking and textile processing. Home economics and nutrition are also taught here.
