Lord of the Harvest Church

Journeying to Ireland, many Filipinos found themselves far from home, yet united by their faith. They established the Lord of the Harvest Church. The early days of the Lord of the Harvest Church began in a small room at the Mater Public Hospital’s Nurses’ Residence. Driven by their faith, these Filipino workers, originally attending various churches around Dublin, sought a place to connect with their culture and strengthen their faith. The Lord of the Harvest Church began to take shape. Their initial gatherings at Stephen’s Green Park were interrupted, prompting the search for a more permanent location. A Romanian congregation generously shared their space in Moore Lane. This act of kindness allowed the Lord of the Harvest Church to grow and formalize, establishing ministries and electing leaders. The church’s name, inspired by Matthew 9:37-38, reflects its mission to spread the word of God. Even a devastating fire that destroyed their meeting place in Drumcondra couldn’t extinguish their spirit. The Lord of the Harvest Church persevered, holding services in hotel function rooms until finding a home at The Ripley Court Hotel. The arrival of Pastor Victor Lopez in 2003 marked a significant milestone. Families reunited, ministries expanded, and the church became deeply involved in the Filipino community. The Lord of the Harvest Church participated in the Philippine Independence Day celebrations and Christmas events, sharing their faith and culture with others. The church continued to evolve. In 2008, they adopted the name “WORD International Ministries – Dublin, Ireland” to connect with the global church community. Despite facing challenges and some members leaving, the church continued to thrive under God’s guidance. The dream of a permanent home was finally realized in 2011. Unit G-5 Chapelizod Industrial Park became the new sanctuary. This marked a new chapter for the Lord of the Harvest Church, a testament to their unwavering faith and resilience. The Lord of the Harvest Church stands as a testament to the power of faith and community, bringing hope and connection to Filipinos far from home.
